My name is Madison Baker. I’m a tarot reader, reiki practitioner and circle facilitator based in Denver, Colorado.
For as long as I can remember, I have felt the world as something alive and speaking. I have always been drawn to nature, to animals, to other times in history — to things that felt older and deeper than the present moment. I was described as an old soul before I knew what that meant. I sang opera from the age of ten, and the songs I chose were always older than I was — full of loss and longing and mourning that somehow, even as a little girl, I already understood.
That sensitivity is the thread that runs through everything. Through my love of music and the arts. Through the way I move through the world. Through this work. It is not a weakness. It is how I receive.
The Divine Mother has been with me since childhood. Through my French Canadian Catholic roots on my father’s side, Mary found me early — and she has never left. She is woven into my ancestry, my altar and the circles I hold. She is the heart of this practice.
Tarot came to me as a guiding light — something to return to when I felt unsure or afraid. It has carried me through two cross country moves, through starting over in a city where I knew no one, through every chapter of becoming that asked more of me than I thought I had. When I didn’t know which way to turn, the cards helped me remember what I already knew. They still do.
Sacred Soil was born from all of it. From the songs that carried grief I didn’t yet have words for. From the cards that kept me on my path. From the slow work of coming home to myself.
Where you’re standing is sacred soil. I’m here to help you remember that.
My Approach
When you sit down with me, I want you to feel like you’re sitting with someone who already knows you. An old friend. A mother. A sister. Someone you can finally exhale with — someone who will listen without judgment and reflect back what you already know to be true. Most women leave a reading feeling validated, held and clearer about where they’re headed. That is always the goal.
Tarot, in my hands, is a collaborative experience. I am not here to tell you your future. I am here to help you find your way back to your own inner knowing — because it was never lost, only buried. What you see in the cards matters more than what I see. I am simply the guide. My style is deeply narrative — I find the story living inside the spread, and together we follow it until something clicks into place.
Sound and ritual are central to everything I do. Drum. Rattle. Voice. Incense. Palo Santo. These are not decorative — they are functional. Sound moves energy. Scent shifts the nervous system. Ritual creates a threshold between the everyday and something deeper. When all of these elements come together, something in the body relaxes and opens. You step out of ordinary time and into a space that feels almost like a separate reality. That is where the real work happens.
I created Sacred Soil because I believe women are among the most giving beings on this earth — and among the least held. We pour ourselves into our work, our relationships, our families, our communities. We juggle everything and ask for very little in return. Sacred Soil exists to be the space where you finally get to put it all down. Where someone tends to you for a change. Where your inner life is treated as worthy of time, attention and care.
